ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Works under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology.  Develops and prepares reports on organization statistics/operations as required for the funding sources of grants, local, state, and federal officials and for all other legitimate requests for program information: collects data into spreadsheets, data bases, etc., interprets and applies detailed legislation and regulations regarding local reporting requirements, and analyzes data to make prudent recommendations to improve performance measure outcomes.  Supervises a small staff in achieving objectives.  Determines required submission dates for recurring reports.  Maintains and provides administration with information including program for which the report is applicable, frequency of submission, to whom the report will be submitted, and which units of the organization will be required to submit information including prioritizing and completing multiple tasks simultaneously.  Ensures reports are completely accurately and correctly and submitted to administration in ample time for forwarding to required parties.
 
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
1.         Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.  Requires the ability to operate general office equipment such as a personal computer and telephone.
 
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Processing, Business Management, or a closely related field and two (2) years experience in a responsible administrative/supervisory capacity in data analysis and report preparation; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential job functions.  Must have a valid Tennessee driver's license. Extensive knowledge in personal computer hardware in a user capacity strongly preferred.
 

The City Charter requires that City Employees must establish residence within Shelby County within six (6) months from date of Employment. Proof of residence will be required at the time of hire.
